DCAP Benefit feat. Arthur Dodge / Julia Peterson / Andrew Connor / Jeff Ferrell / Matt Rice
When: Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2003, 9 p.m.
Where: Teller's, 746 Massachusetts, Lawrence
Cost: $5 - $7
Age limit: 18+
Categories: Folk
Description: Those free condoms at the Prelay, SUA, and in bowls at a dozen other Lawrence joints aren't really free. And the free services offered to local people living with HIV or AIDS -- transportation, legal advocacy, financial assistance, counseling, and the like -- do cost money. The Douglas County AIDS Project depends on community support to continue its good work. For your generous donation, bask in the bounty of town's tuneful talent. Arthur Dodge headlines the show with his sometimes gregarious, sometimes gruff plains rock. Also on stage in some singer-songwriter and/or acousto-rock form: Andrew Connor (of Ghosty), Jeff Ferrell (formerly of The Hardaways), Matt Rice, and the show's organizer Julia Peterson. For added appeal, an unnamed special guest will be performing.
